History and Past Results

The Scandnavian Cup is probably one of the oldest (if not THE oldest) golf competitions open to foreigners living in Japan that is still being played today. Ever since the tee-off at the first hole in the first tournament back in 1956, have golfers from around Scandinavia fought intensely for the desirable Cup! The first tournament was won by a Norwegian named Thorleif Monsen (who one it one more time in 1962). Since then, it's been played bi-annually without interruption. (Except 1971 when there was no competition, and during the years 1967 - 1984 when the tournament was only played once a year.)
